Formally known as Ramsey Tower, City Place was Oklahoma City’s first skyscraper and often recognized for its art deco-inspired style. In a heated race toward completion with First National Bank, construction was completed in 1931 in a mere nine months, and it was claimed to be Oklahoma City’s tallest building before First National Center took the title. City Place was constructed by the Starrett Corporation, also known for constructing the Empire State Building.
City Place has committed local ownership interested in preserving and improving one of Oklahoma’s few remaining historical high-rises. Renovations are currently underway to enhance the look and functionality of the building including converting the top 7 floors to high-rise residential units. Located in the heart of the Central Business District, City Place tenants can enjoy nearby parks and restaurants.
